Last updated1. To demonstrate how each frequency type works, we'll look at an example order. The frequency options are the same for recurring orders, plantings, and tasks. The start date for this order is July 4th, a Friday, and the contents are five containers of broccoli, a 10-day crop

2. The first option under "Frequency Type" is "Every N weeks"

3. When you choose a different "Frequency Type," the selection below it will change. For this type, it says "Every ___ weeks," which means every 1, 2, 3, 4... weeks on a specific day of the week. The start date determines the day of the week. The start date is July 4th, which is a Friday

4. We'll select 3

5. If we scroll to the bottom of the form, we will see how the system creates the child orders. Remember that child orders are specific instances of the recurring order. They have the same parameters, but each one is for a specific date. In this case, we have one child order for July 4th and then nothing else. The software only looks so far into the future to create child orders. Looking ahead, we’d also see child orders for July 25th and August 15th. These dates are three weeks apart

6. Let's look at the next option, "Every Nth day of the week." This means there will be a child order every week, but you pick the specific day

7. The selector below now says, "Every ___"

8. We'll pick "Friday"

9. If we scroll to the bottom of the form, we'll see our planned child orders. They'll appear on July 4th, July 11th, and July 18th. Each one is a week apart on Friday

10. Let's look at the last option, "Every Nth weekday of the month." This means a specific day each month. For example, every third Thursday of the month

11. When you select this option, the drop-downs below it will change. You can select the week of the month

12. And then the day of the week

13. We ultimately set the frequency for every 1st Friday of the month. If we scroll to the bottom, we'll see a child order for July 4th. In the future, we would also see a child order for Friday, August 1st, and Friday, September 5th
